Use in the U.S. Military
How is "By Your Leave" used in the Military?
"By Your Leave" is used with a salute prior to passing senior officers who might be advancing in the same direction. Protocol states the senior must acknowledge by returning the salute with the phrase "Carry on" before the junior passes on the left. This applies between Junior and Senior Officers as well as between Enlisted and Officer.
Example: "By Your Leave sir/ma'am"

I'm gonna be straight with you. I'm new at this and it's just me. I have one Large X-CARVE Engraving machine and love to create new designs with it. I chose to primarily design "Dog Tag Style" Military Insignia because I am a U.S. Navy Veteran and like to give back a little. I greatly appreciate the hard work and dedication of our Military Veterans. My hope is that some of them will appreciate a little something different to remember their service with.
